Ontario PROLINE Bettors Turn Focus to the Buffalo Bills

It is no secret that Ontario sports fans are quite fond of the NFL, and bettors on Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation’s PROLINE have turned their focus to the Buffalo Bills. On December 17, 2023, the team faced the Dallas Cowboys at home and won 31-10. This was the Bills’ second win over an NFL contender after winning 20-17 against the Kansas City Chiefs.

OLG is a state-run agency that responsibly offers gambling and sports betting while also returning 100% of its profits to Ontario. Via its PROLINE brand, the Crown agency delivers fun but regulated sports betting at retail locations across the province. The sports wagering brand is also available online on its official gambling platform OLG.ca under the PROLINE+ tab.

NFL is King

The latest reports from OLG confirm that PROLINE bettors are keen on NFL action, especially the Bills. Approximately 48% of the bettors had their wagers on the Buffalo team to emerge victorious in the games against Dallas. Meanwhile, a solid 64% liked the small point spread of -1.5 points, but only 34% opted for the under 49.5 points.

Meanwhile, the Seattle Seahawks managed to scrape a 20-17 win over Philadelphia and keep the hopes of making it to the playoffs. However, just 33% of the bets on PROLINE were on the Seattle team causing an upset win while 53% of the bettors correctly picked the Seahawks +4.5 on the point spread. Lastly, 48% correctly opted for the under 47.5 total points.

The NFL was among the top betting events for that week, with the Dallas-Buffalo games accumulating the largest portion of bets. However, the NBA also caught the eye of the bettors, as the Toronto Raptors put in a shift for a 114-99 home win over the Charlotte Hornets. Around 65% of bets were on the Toronto team to win but 37% picked the Raptors -12.5 on the point spread.

According to OLG, a retail customer of PROLINE got an early Christmas present as they turned a CA$1 bet into CA$4,082.90 windfall, from a successful six-leg soccer parlay. Another customer claimed CA$1,106.90 from a CA$10 wager on an eight-leg NHL parlay, while an online bettor won CA$1,703.19 from a CA$3 bet in a 10-leg NFL parlay.

PROLINE Expands its Footprint

As the official sports betting brand of OLG, PROLINE is also an important partner to leagues and sports franchises. In the summer of 2022, the Crown corporation announced that it had struck a multi-year collaboration agreement with MLB to make the brand an official sports betting partner to the league. Making it the first partnership for MLB in Ontario.

In addition to that, the start of 2023, saw PROLINE+ partner up with with Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment. Via the partnership, the online sportsbook became an official partner of Real Sports. The collab was celebrated with an exclusive fan experience at the venue, home of Toronto’s largest screen and 100-foot bar, during the NFL Conference Championships.
